ABOUT STRETCH HOOD

Stretch Hood represents the latest in pallet-securing technology. Used with compatible hooding lines, this tubular elastic film is stretched onto pallet loads, securing them in place and shielding them from external factors like dust, moisture and sunlight, all while offering unrivalled marketing potential through large, uninterrupted printed areas. By balancing the trade-offs of its conceptual predecessors — linear stretch film and shrink hood — Stretch Hood provides a smart, sustainable solution for modern supply chains.

APPLICATIONS & PURPOSES

Stretch Hood is ideal for high-volume operations where safe and efficient pallet wrapping is essential for the effective storage and transport of goods. With the right elasticity and prestretch, it secures tall stacks of heavy or unstable goods as well as sensitive items that could deform under excessive pressure. Available in a wide range of dimensions, with or without side gussets, it fits vertical and horizontal machine setups — covering four, five or all six sides (including the pallet) as required.

What is a stretch hood?
A stretch hood is a tubular elastic film that is stretched over a pallet load and then released, so it grips the goods tightly without heat. It protects the load from dust, moisture and sunlight and can cover all six sides when used with compatible hooding lines.

Stretch hood or shrink hood: which one do I need?
Stretch hood uses an undersized film that is stretched on, so it needs no shrink tunnel and less energy. A shrink hood is oversized and heat-shrunk, which suits existing heat-shrink lines and light or irregular loads. For simple wrapping without a hooder, stretch film for hand and machine wrapping is the usual option.

What sizes and thicknesses can you produce?
We produce hood circumferences from 600 to 6,700 mm, thicknesses from 40 to 200 µm, side gussets up to 650 mm deep and reel widths up to 2,700 mm. Stretch can reach up to 70% of the initial circumference.

Can the stretch hood be printed?
Yes. We print flexographically with up to 10 colours per side, with print widths up to 2,700 mm and repeats up to 1,300 mm. Layflat films without gussets can carry an all-round print.
